Preparing for emergencies is a priority for HFCRD, which is why emergency plans are created before an emergencies occur. HFCRD works with regional partners to ensure that students and staff will be prepared to safely deal with any disaster or pandemic. Staff are trained to ensure they are aware of their role should an emergency occur. These plans are reviewed annually and updated versions will be posted on this page.

In response to the Government of Alberta’s decision to extend the Christmas break by one week and to cancel the January Diploma exams, the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division will not have final exams for grades 10 to 12 students in January 2022. High school classes will continue up to and including Wednesday January 26, 2022. The semester break for students will start on Thursday January 27, 2022, and Semester 2 will begin on Tuesday February 1, 2022. This decision will take pressure off of students as they did not have adequate class time to prepare for final exams, and give them the opportunity to hand in any class work not yet completed.
For all high school courses, the school-based course work will now be worth 100 percent of the students’ final grades. School staff from Glenmary School, St. Andrew’s School and Holy Family CyberHigh will provide further guidance to students and their families on how these decisions will roll out in their respective schools.
At this time, Diploma exams and final exams in Semester 2 will continue as planned. We thank all students and their families for their continued support as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to communicate the most up-to-date information we have to all stakeholders.
