  Posted: April 18, 2024

At the April 17th, 2024 Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to call a by-election in Ward 2 McLennan. The vote came after the Ward 2 Trustee seat became vacant after the resignation of Tom Henihan in March. Nomination Day has been set for Wednesday, May 15th, 2024. Interested candidates can obtain nomination papers below.

Candidates must submit their completed nomination forms to the HFCRD Central Office in Peace River (10307 – 99 St) or Ecole Providence School in McLennan (151 – 3rd Avenue NW) during regular business hours anytime between now and noon on Nomination Day Wednesday, May 15th, 2024.

In order to be eligible for the nomination, candidates must be eligible to vote in the by-election, be Catholic, be a resident of Ward 2 (McLennan and surrounding areas – see ward map), and not be otherwise ineligible or disqualified (as outlined in the Local Authorities Election Act).

If more than one candidate comes forward, Election Day will be Wednesday, June 12, 2024.  In the event that only one candidate comes forward by Nomination Day, that candidate will be acclaimed as the Ward 2 Trustee. In the event that no candidates come forward, nominations will re-open the day following Nomination Day. More information would be provided.
