Introducing SafeArrival, an Online Student Absence Management System for HFCRD Schools
Posted: October 13, 2021

The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is pleased to introduce SafeArrival, an online student absence management system for HFCRD schools. Starting November 1st, parents and guardians will be able to notify their school when their child will be absent using a mobile app, a website or a toll-free phone line. They will also be notified when their child is unexpectedly absent using the SafeArrival online system. Student safety is a priority for HFCRD schools, and HFCRD is committed to ensuring that all students arrive safely to school every day.
To use the new student absence reporting system, parents and guardians will use a mobile app, a website, or an interactive toll-free phone line to report an absence in advance. As a result, schools will take less time verifying student attendance, and less time notifying parents and guardians of absences that were unexpected or unplanned. This time savings makes it faster and more efficient to account for all students and their safety. Calling the school to report and absence will continue to be allowed, however parents and guardians are encouraged to use this new system
Parents and guardians are encouraged to read the FAQ document, download the app and familiarize themselves with this new system before November 1st. The new system will be available to parents and guardians starting Monday October 25th as a testing week before the full launch on Monday November 1st.
When a student is marked absent by a school staff member and the absence hasn’t been explained in advance, the new SafeArrival system will be able to rapidly contact parents and guardians by automated phone call, text message, email, or mobile app push notification to get a reason for the absence. Calls and contacts will continue until parents and guardians choose an option to explain the absence.
