HFCRD Exploring the Provision of Inter-School Bussing for Good Shepherd School Families
Posted: July 30, 2020
The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is currently exploring the financial viability of providing an inter-school bussing service for Good Shepherd School families for the 2020/21 school year. This initiative was requested by parents/guardians following the recent announcement from the Peace River School Division in their Re-Entry Plan, that all inter-school bussing will be suspended for the 2020/21 school year.
If financially viable, this bussing service would transport students from the Sugar Plum Daycare and Glenmary School to Good Shepherd School before school and after school for a minimal fee. Specific fee amounts are currently being determined and the amount will decrease with more students riding the bus.
HFCRD encourages all families who are interested in this bus service to contact the HFCRD central office at 780-624-3956 Ext. 1108. Next week, HFCRD will contact all families who currently utilize the inter-school bussing to survey their interest and their commitment to paying a fee.
“Thank you to the families who brought this matter to our attention and requested this bus service. We are striving to ensure that this service remains available and affordable for families, and all fees collected will be used only to cover the costs of operation, ” said Superintendent Betty Turpin. “The financial viability will depend on the number of families who utilize the service so anyone interested who has not been contacted by HFCRD should call our office to express their interest.”
The bussing service will follow all Covid19 guidelines and be thoroughly cleaned between each use. HFCRD thanks all families for considering this service.
