The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) warmly congratulates Krista Veitch who will be the new Principal of Good Shepherd School in Peace River. Krista is transferring from Holy Family School in Grimshaw where she has been the Principal for the last school year. Krista was also the Principal of Ecole Providence School in McLennan from 2014 to 2020. She brings years of teaching and administrative experience to this position, which will be a great benefit to the Good Shepherd School community.

“Throughout her time with HFCRD, Krista has become a confident leader who led Ecole Providence School through its growth in recent years and then led Holy Family School throughout most of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Superintendent Betty Turpin. “Krista’s past success with fostering a positive learning environment for students will be a great asset as she moves into this new role.”

Krista graduated from Memorial University in Newfoundland and began her teaching career in 1999. She moved to Alberta in 2012 to teach at St. Stephen’s School in Valleyview. She was the Principal of Ecole Providence in McLennan for the past 6 years and during that time she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. While at Providence, she developed a passion for improving school culture and providing students positive learning experiences. In 2020, she became the Principal of Holy Family School where she focused on creating a positive learning environment throughout the pandemic.

“I am grateful for the staff, students, families and community members of Holy Family School. Although I have only been part of this school community for a short time, I am grateful to everyone who warmly welcomed me to the school,” said Krista. “While it is difficult to leave, I am looking forward to working and establishing the same strong relationships with the staff, students and families at Good Shepherd School.”
