A big congratulations to Glenmary’s Norbert Kovacs, who scored 100 percent on his Math 30-1 Diploma Exam. We did a short interview with Norbert and the Q & A is below.

  1. When you finished writing your Math 30-1 diploma exam, did you have a feeling that you were going to get a high grade?

Yes, I was confident that I would get a high grade.  I didn’t expect to get 100 percent.

  1. What was your study schedule like for this exam? How many hours did you put in each day before the exam?

Only a few hours.  I would work on extra math practice questions and old diploma tests.

  1. Did you study alone, or as part of a group?

I studied alone.

  1. Are there any teachers, staff members, tutors, friends, or family (anyone) that you want to thank that may have helped you prepare for your exam?

A friend told me about the old diploma practice tests website. He said the tests gave you an idea of the exam. He said there was a question they didn’t cover in class, but the old diploma practice tests were helpful.  I would like to thank all my teachers.

  1. Do you have any tips or suggestions for students to prepare for this type of exam?

Do the old diploma practice tests.

  1. What are your post-secondary school and career goals?

My plan after high school is to attend the Engineering program at University of Alberta.  I hope to get hired for the Engineering summer student job.

  1. What are some of your hobbies and favourite activities outside of school?

I enjoy coding and learning other new programming languages such as C++.
