Glenmary Grade 7 Says Do Not Be Afraid! – Week 3 of the ADVENTure Contest!
Posted: December 15, 2017
The fourth entry in the ADVENTure Contest is from the grade 7 at Glenmary School. The third week of Advent begins on Sunday December 17th, and the theme is Do Not Be Afraid! Glenmary and HFCRD invite you to reflect on this theme: are you trusting that God is guiding you throughout your life? Our lives are blessed by God’s presence every single day, and for the first week of Advent, we invite you to be present and to be grateful for all the ways God blesses you. “Do not be afraid” is a common refrain used throughout biblical stories and one that we need to hear over and over again. In our world today, and in a world that we fear and imagine is possible in the future, we need to be reminded not to be afraid.
These Glenmary School students participated in a trust walk to learn more about this theme. Here’s what students said about the exercise:
- “This activity shows that we need to have faith and trust in the person that’s guiding us, and that they’ll always be there when we need them.”
- “We need to have that same faith and trust in God.”
