Holy Family Catholic Regional Division No. 37 (HFCRD) is pleased to welcome 20 new teachers to the division for the 2015/16 school year.  All new teachers were invited to attend three days of orientation from August 19th to 21st to better prepare them for their first year in the division.  On August 19th, new teachers attended orientation specific to HFCRD.  Teachers had the opportunity to meet Central Office staff and become acquainted with the division’s policies and procedures.

“The first day of our orientation gave teachers the chance to get to know us and what we stand for as a division.  We had a very relaxed tone for the day,” said HFCRD Superintendent Betty Turpin.  “We covered the important policies and procedures of course, but we also emphasized that we are here to support them.  We want them to be successful.”

Teachers also attended the Tri-Divisional New Teachers’ Orientation on August 20th and 21st at GP Vanier School in Donnelly.  Co-hosted by HFCRD, Peace River School Division and High Prairie School Division, the Tri-Divisional New Teachers’ Orientation gave teachers the opportunity to learn about student engagement, best practices, mentorship programs, relationship building and recommended routines and procedures.  Teachers also had the opportunity to see demonstration classrooms and practice room arrangements.

“We’ve had a very positive response from the over 60 teachers who attended the Tri-Divisional Orientation,” said HFCRD Learning Coach Spencer Pinnock.  “We hope that they left feeling more prepared for the first day of school than when they arrived.  We wish them all a successful first year of teaching.”

HFCRD wishes all teachers a successful 2015/16 school year!
