Holy Family Catholic Regional Division No. 37 (HFCRD) is pleased to welcome 14 new teachers to the division for the 2016/17 school year.  All new teachers attended two days of orientation on August 25th and 26th to introduce them to the HFCRD and better prepare them for their first year in the division.  On August 25th, new teachers attended orientation specific to HFCRD.  Teachers had the opportunity to meet Central Office staff and become acquainted with the division’s policies and procedures.  Teachers spent the day learning about who we are as a division and what we value, and had the opportunity to learn about assessment, mentorship, classroom management and planning from HFCRD’s Learning Coach team.

“HFCRD warmly welcomes these wonderful new teachers to our division.  We are so blessed to have such talented teachers joining our staff,” said HFCRD Superintendent Betty Turpin.  “Each year, our Learning Coaches do an excellent job of welcoming new teachers and this year is no exception.”

Teachers also attended the Tri-Divisional New Teachers’ Orientation on Friday August 26th at GP Vanier School in Donnelly.  Co-hosted by HFCRD, Peace River School Division and High Prairie School Division, the Tri-Divisional New Teachers’ Orientation gave teachers the opportunity to learn about student engagement, best practices, relationship building and recommended routines and procedures.

“We’ve had a very positive response from the over 60 teachers who attended the Tri-Divisional Orientation,” said HFCRD Learning Coach Mary Briand.  “We strive to treat all staff just like family and we want all teachers to know we are here to support them every step of the way.  We want their first year of teaching to be a positive experience.”

HFCRD wishes all teachers a successful 2016/17 school year!
