HFCRD Introduces New Health and Safety Program
Posted: September 12, 2023

(September 12, 2023) The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is excited to announce a new health and safety program that focuses on emergency preparedness and responses. The HFCRD has signed a deal to work with Hour Zero, an Edmonton-based company, that focuses on tools such as managing incident reporting, facilitating school-specific safety training and school emergency plans and all other aspects of a health and safety management system.
“There is no such thing as being too prepared for worst-case scenarios,” says Superintendent Betty Turpin. “Having more tools, training and other resources for our schools and parents to utilize so they can feel confident that their children are in a safe environment that is ready for any scenario.”
Hour Zero has several tools and resources available on its website.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to utilize this program and work closely with all of our community partners to help safeguard our students, our staff and respective communities.” says Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator Shane O’Connor. “We will soon have training and other information parents can access so keep an eye out for that in the near future.”
Hour Zero’s focus is specifically on school emergency program management for K-12 schools.
