Good Shepherd and Glenmary Schools Scare Hunger with Peace River Go Auto

Kelly Whalen of Peace River Go Auto, and Board Chair of the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) kicked off the annual We Scare Hunger campaign at Good Shepherd School and Glenmary School this week.  Just as in previous years, students and staff were challenged to donate non-perishable food items to the food bank and Peace River Go Auto will match their donations.  Go Auto will donate $1.00 for each pound of food donated, and they’ve offered prizes to classes who donate the most food like pizza parties.

“We are thrilled to participate in this fantastic community initiative.  Thank you to Peace River Go Auto for providing this Catholic citizenship opportunity for our students year after year,” said Good Shepherd School Principal Tina McDonald.  “I look forward to seeing our Catholic schools come together to support those in need in our community.”

Peace River Go Auto has lead this campaign for several years, and has donated over $20,000 to the food bank.  Every year, there is a friendly competition between the two schools to see who can donate the most food.  Last year, Glenmary School was the winner in a close race.

HFCRD thanks Peace River Go Auto for their commitment to the local food bank and to our local schools.  For more information about the We Scare Hunger campaign, visit:
