Congratulations Joanne Baird, Acting Vice-Principal of St. Andrew’s School

Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Baird as Acting Vice-Principal of St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie starting October 15th. Joanne has been with the division for 23 years, first as a Teacher at St. Andrew’s School and more recently as a Learning Coach for the last four years. She undertakes this role after long-time Vice Principal Karen Nielsen’s recent retirement, and will support students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
“Joanne brings a wealth of experience to this role from her years in teaching elementary grades, and coaching Teachers across our division. Throughout her career, she has displayed a strong commitment to education and dedication to helping others learn and improve,” said Superintendent Betty Turpin. “Joanne is very familiar with the St. Andrew’s School community, which will only enhance her success in this new role. We look forward to working with her in this new capacity.”
Joanne has a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Alberta. She has a passion for literacy, a belief in empowering teachers, and a good understanding of the technology used in the division. Joanne enjoys camping, curling, golfing and traveling with her retired husband as well as spending time with her pseudo-grandchildren Brooklyn and Ryder.
