Trustee Whalen Re-Elected as Board Chair and Trustee Kuran Elected as Vice Chair

The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD) is pleased to announce that Trustee Kelly Whalen has been re-elected as Board Chair and Trustee John Kuran has been elected as Vice Chair at the Friday October 29th Regular Board Meeting. Both nominations were uncontested.
Whalen was first elected as Board Chair in 2016 and continues his tenure for the 2021/22 school year. First elected as a Ward 4 Sub 3 Peace River/Nampa Trustee in the January 2011 by-election, Whalen is starting his eleventh year on the HFCRD Board of Trustees representing Good Shepherd and Glenmary Schools at the board table. Whalen also served previously as a Trustee with St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Schools for four years.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve the HFCRD community for another year as Board Chair. Thank you for the privilege of representing this board provincially and locally,” said Board Chair Kelly Whalen. “I look forward to working with this wonderful new Board of Trustees.”
Kuran is entering his first year as Vice Chair. He was first elected as a Trustee representing Ward 4 Sub 3 Peace River/Nampa in 2017. Vice Chair Kuran is starting his fifth year representing the Good Shepherd and Glenmary School communities. Vice Chair Kuran is passionate about Catholic education and looks forward to continuing his work on the Board of Trustees in his new role.

I am passionate about Catholic education and I will do my best to support students, families, staff and my fellow Trustees ,” said Vice Chair Kuran. “I am very excited about the journey ahead for all of HFCRD.”
