Trustee Hill Not Seeking Re-Election

  Posted: September 10, 2021

To the Stakeholders of Ward 4 Sub 2 – Grimshaw,

I have made an important decision that I need to share with all stakeholders. I have decided not to seek re-election in the upcoming School Board Election with the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division (HFCRD). Being a Catholic School Trustee has been a rewarding experience and I am grateful for the many opportunities this role has given me. Holy Family School in Grimshaw is a wonderful school and I will continue to be a proud member of their school community. However, I feel now is the time for a new person to fill the role of Trustee and bring a new perspective to the board table.

Although I will not be running in this election, the Grimshaw Ward needs representation. I encourage anyone who is feeling called to serve the Grimshaw and area to put their name forward. The role of a Catholic School Trustee is incredibly important to our school, parish and community. Trustees make very important governance decisions that impact our schools. The main criteria to be eligible to run for the Office of Catholic School Trustee is: you must be at least 18 years of age, live in the Grimshaw Ward, and be of the Catholic faith. The Board of Trustees has a public meeting once per month, and Trustees also serve on several committees.

If you are interested in running, nomination papers must be submitted before noon on Monday September 20th. More information can be found on the HFCRD website here: https://hfcrd.ab.ca/election2021/  If you have questions about the election process, please contact the HFCRD Central Office at 780-624-3956. If you have questions about the role of a Trustee, our central office staff can connect you with a current board member. This seat should not be left vacant. I encourage all stakeholders to consider putting their name forward

God Bless,

Brian Hill
Trustee – Ward 4 Sub 2 Grimshaw
