HFCRD Board Meeting Highlights – April 19, 2023

Here is a list of highlights from the most recent Regular Board Meeting
- Trustees reviewed priorities for the Board for the current school year.
- Trustees approved all school calendars for the 2023-24 school year.
- Superintendent Betty Turpin updated the Board on changes to the student transportation funding model.
- A formation meeting for St. Andrew’s to discuss recent funding changes with parents was rescheduled from April 26 to June 12 at 6:00 PM at St. Andrew’s. Trustee Cox indicated that there is an interested community member who is willing to take the lead.
- The Board set the date for the next Student Engagement Team meeting. A pre-meeting will take place virtually on May 9 at 2:00 PM, and the meeting will be on May 18 at the Division Office starting at 11:30 AM.
- Superintendent Turpin provided the Board with the date and details of the Division’s Faith Day. It will be on May 12 at Glenmary School. The featured speaker will be Father Leo Patalinghug.
- The Board reviewed the agenda for its annual joint meeting with the Peace River School Division, which took place on April 19.
- Representatives from the Board and Administration have been registered for the First Nations, Metis & Inuit Education Gathering being hosted by the College of Alberta School Superintendents (CASS) in Edmonton between April 24-26.
- The Board discussed the value scoping workshop for St. Andrew’s, which will be happening on April 20-21.
- A visit to St. Mary’s for the Educational Services Agreement has been set for May 29.
